Reports for Time For You 2008

Wednesday 27 February - Update 2008

Time For You has settled well into her new home. They are over the moon with her and her future will be in show jumping. Below is a photo of Time For You clearing a huge jump!

Saturday 5 May - Worcester

Jamie reported that after Time For You jumped the 5th hurdle awkwardly she then stopped striding out and he decided to play safe and pull her up. She was fine after the race and we may now look for a race for her back on the flat.

Sunday 29 April - Ludlow

We were hoping this race would cut up at the declaration stage but we were not well in, in this claimer as others were quite a number of 1lb’s in hand. However, she was up with the pace until 3 out where the better horses went on and she couldn’t go with them coming in 7th. Jamie Moore got on well with her but said when she was crowded at the top turn she stopped running on and when they went on she couldn’t go with them. We will probably run her othis coming Saturday at Worcester.

Wednesday 11 April - Hereford

Richard Johnson felt that Time For You was a little quiet in herself today, he had her up in the first three to halfway but today she seemed to jump the hurdles too high rather than pinging them as she usually does. He also felt that she may be ready to come into season in the next couple of days and that she may need two and a hlaf miles on this fast ground. Richard gave her a great ride today not punishing her when her chance was gone. Further entries will be posted when available.

Wednesday 21 March - Chepstow

It was good to see Time For You back over hurdles today after 259 days. Richard Johnson set off in 5th place, lost her place after reaching halfway but on the bottom turn just started to move up when she hit the 3rd last hurdle when in 4th place just going to move up into 3rd place and Richard didn’t give her a hard time when it was clear he wasn’t going to win. Richard Johnson reported that she jumped well at all the hurdles bar the one and gave him a feeling that she would be much better suited to summer jumping and that he felt she would get further on faster ground”. We will now wait for faster ground and look for her next race.

Wednesday 3 January - Kempton

Today was the first of two runs on the flat for Time For You before she returns to hurdling. Joe Fanning rode a very sensible ride despite getting hampered at halfway bringing her home under just hands and heels. Joe was also happy that she seemed to travel very well on the surface and once we see how she is in the morning, we will plan her next race.

Wednesday 5 July - Stratford

Back on the track today in a novice handicap hurdle on a very wet day. Warren Marston reported that the track was too sharp for Time For You and that the rain had made the track quite slippery having to try and hold onto her around the tight bends. Time For You jumped really well and we were pleased that she got round safely under tricky conditions and will now look for another novice hurdle race in the very near future.

Monday 19 June - Warwick

Time For You looked fit and strong and ran a great race which will now put her spot on to go back over the hurdles in the next couple of weeks. Nicky McKay said she travelled very strongly, just a little outpaced early on, was up with the leaders for most of the race till two furlongs out and then she stayed on at one pace.

Wednesday 31 May - Brighton

Finally got Time for you back onto the racecourse but knowing she would desperately need the run. She was with the leaders for 6 furlongs, gradually dropped out and Fran Ferris allowed her to come home in her own time. We will find another flat race for her, then she will run back over hurdles.

Saturday 29 April -

Time For You looks fantastic and is ready to run. Watch out for entries in the next two weeks.

Saturday 15 April - Latest report 2006

We will be ready to run after 1st May. Needs just two more, good blow outs and then entries can be made. However, Milton has suggested that her work has been so good over the last week or so that he feels we should have a couple of races on the FLAT before we resume her hurdling career. As mentioned o shareholders in the last letter, Warren Marston was exceptionally pleased with her jumping and Milton is of the opinion that going flat racing first will give us two options and will put her spot on for her runs over hurdles.

Sunday 6 November - Hereford

Time For You ran a super race again today on soft ground finishing 4th. Her hurdling is getting better and she really does try her heart out. We will be looking for another race for her in the very near future as she is so well at present and whislt in this sort of form we need to keep her racing.

Thursday 20 October - Ludlow

Our filly picked up 3rd place today in a novice hurdle and jumped well apart from a couple that she missed out but is learning all the time and we are sure there is a race to be won with her. It was a very fast race and she kept getting outpaced but after the last hurdle came back on the bridle and clearly will get further. We will now be searching for further entries.

Sunday 25 September - Huntingdon

Milton was totally justified at keeping our filly hurdling after a superb 2nd and in fact looking the winner after leading over the last just making two or three errors at her hurdles. She stayed on strongly on the run in only beaten a length. Warren Marston gave her a superb ride and Milton and all shareholders are thrilled to bits. The commentator remembered to say between the last two hurdles, "Time For You was the one who jumped in the river at Newton Abbot 2 runs ago"! Shows she is now a National Treasure and has made her mark in racing!

Sunday 18 September - Plumpton

Warren Marston carried out Milton's instructions to perfection, jumping off in 5th place, Time For You jumping the hurdles well and when Warren couldn't finish 4th he wasn't hard on her coming home a respectable 5th. She travelled well throughout and jumped well enough for a novice and her next run will be on a more galloping track. An enjoyable day for all shareholders that went racing.

Thursday 8 September - Bath

Time For You ran a very encouraging race today over a mile and Chris Catlin reported that she handled the "Hard" ground conditions very well finishing 5th only beaten 3 lengths. This now gives us a lot more options with the filly and future entries will be posted very soon.

Saturday 3 September - Stratford

Taking on some decent hurdlers today to ensure it was a true run race to show how she could ping the hurdles. She jumped well today and this is sure to have given her lots of confidence. Milton will now search for a suitable race for her and there will be plenty of opportunities in the coming weeks.

Sunday 21 August - Newton abbot

Eventful happenings today at Newton Abbot when Time For You was brought down at the first hurdle, she then attempted to jump the rail, run through the woods and then into the river for a swim! On Monday 22nd August in "The Sun" newspaper, a photo of Time For You appeared of her coming out of the river with a caption saying, "NOT THAT WATER JUMP!", and the article as follows: You can lead a horse to water... but you can't make him jump. Novice hurdler Time For You finds a novel way to cool down at sun-kissed Newton Abbot yesterday. After being brought down at the first, Milton Bradley's three-year-old found her way into the River Teign. One punter joked: "I've seen my money go down the drain before, but never down the river!" Thankfully Time For You and jockey Chris Davies (Milton's grandson) are both fine. Chris suffered a broken ankle, badly bruised ribs and concussion. Report as Follows from "The Western Daily Press on August 22nd", Headline: "NEWTON ABBOT NOVICE MAKES TIME FOR A DIP!” Report: Novice racehorse Time For You did what anyone would be inclined to do on a sweltering hot afternoon at Newton Abbot yesterday - she went for a dip. Unfortunately, she should have been competing in the Toteplacepot Juvenile Novices' hurdle, the opening race on the card. Time For You, who was making her second appearance over hurdles, was brought down in a three-horse melee at the first flight, leaving her 18 year-old jockey Chris Davies with concussion and a broken foot. Obstreperous Way (Jimmy McCarthy) had fallen at the obstacle, bringing down both Time For You and Alphun, the mount of Philip Hide. While Davies was being attended to by paramedics, Time For You jumped the perimeter rails and careered into the adjacent River Teign. She seemed to enjoy her 20-minute paddle and swim, though her rescue proved a delicate operation for course managing director Pat Masterson and his staff. Eventually, she was hauled by rope to the riverbank and safety. "I've got to praise the vets and all my ground staff who dealt very well with a tricky situation," said Masterson. Time For You was led back to the racecourse stables and Granville Davies, trainer Milton Bradley's travelling lad joked: "At least, we didn't have to wash her down after her exertions".

Saturday 13 July - Bangor

Time For You ran a super race to finish 4th on her hurdling debut at Bangor over 2 miles and a furlong. She knocked one or two hurdles due to lack of experience but was staying on well at the end showing she has no stamina problems. Milton was very pleased with this effort and watch out for future entries.
